Flow Gallery, located in historic downtown Marshall, announces its newest exhibit “JUXTAPOSED: unexpected relationships,” a juried exhibition of new works by 15 of our Flow artists. The show, features artists working in a wide range of mediums including encaustic painting, mixed-media collage, ceramics, photography, fiber, sculpture, jewelry, and wood, will run through July 13. An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 7th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
"The influences of old/new, wood/metal, hard/soft, etc… disparate images, objects or materials placed side by side is one that can create a conversation of friction, curiosity, resistance and expansion in unexpected ways. Much like the Marshall community that has brought together people from different places and begun to transform through those influences, this exhibition is an invitation for our artists to explore the idea of the juxtaposition through a marriage of materials and concepts,” shared Lauren Rutten, an owner of Flow and curator of the exhibit.
