This event creates a space for all of WNC and surrounding communities to join together in honor of fermentation, food preservation, farming and food resiliency in Madison County, NC. All profits & proceeds from the festival will be donated to the Beacon of Hope Food Bank of Marshall, NC. There will be FREE demos on food preservation & fermentation, music, family friendly activities and of course local and regional fermenters, foodies and crafting vendors ranging from local farms to local potters, fermenters, crafters and much more!

Weizenblatt Gallery presents Cleaster Cotton Exhibit runs through September 19

79 Cascade Street, Mars Hill, NC 28754 828 689-1209 Cleaster Cotton Exhibit Opens Time: 10 a.m. Location: Weizenblatt Gallery (Moore Fine Arts Building) Exhibition of art by Asheville artist Cleaster Cotton. Cotton describes her exhibit: "The 'United State of Inequity' art exhibit is a collection of mixed media paintings referencing contemporary occurrences in the lives of my people and historic events in the lives of my Ancestors, Indigenous Black Americans and African Americans, whose blood and bones feed the rivers, lakes, streams and trees of the American south." Gallery hours are 10am-4pm, Monday through Friday. The exhibit runs through September 19. A reception is scheduled for September 4, 6-8 p.m.
