Fresh produce straight from the farm to you every week is available at the farmers markets on Saturday in Mars Hill, on Sunday in Marshall and on Tuesday afternoons in Upper Laurel. Not only can you find fresh vegetables and fruits, but there are also eggs, cheeses, jams and sauces as well as home-baked bakery goods. Local artisans offer their crafts, too, at these tailgate markets.

From April through November from 9 am to 12 pm every Saturday (since 1999), this tailgate market has been serving up fresh farm products and more to the people of Madison County and its visitors on College Street just a block from Main Street in Mars Hill. If you are looking for a choice of fresh vegetables and fruits, there are plenty of choices. You can even pick up plants to get your own crops of vegetables or herbs started. But, the choices don’t stop there. There are farm-fresh eggs and cheeses, as well as pesto, sauces, salsas, honey. And, don’t forget to sample some of the baked goods. Craftspeople also offer their wares from yarn to jewelry to woodcrafted items.

Beginning in May through October, every Sunday from Noon to 4 pm, come out to Blannahassett Island to pick up some local products. From fresh-baked bread to jams & jellies to free range eggs and locally-grown vegetables, you can find local products here. The market is very excited and looking forward to their 2nd season! Saturdays from 10-2 beginning April 7, 2018-October 28, 2018. They have a new home (just across the street!) on the lawn of Hot Springs Rafting right beside the post office. The vendors will be offering an assortment of locally produced goodness: no-spray seasonal produce, fruit, plant starts, locally roasted organic coffee, eggs, fresh baked bread and treats, jewelry, canned goods, handmade gifts, value added products and more!
