From April through October from 9am to 1pm every Saturday (since 1999), this tailgate market has been serving up fresh farm products and more to the people of Madison County and its visitors in a Mars Hill College parking lot just a few short blocks from Main Street in Mars Hill. If you are looking for a choice of fresh vegetables and fruits, there are plenty of choices. You can even pick up plants to get your own crops of vegetables or herbs started. But, the choices don’t stop there. There are farm-fresh eggs and cheeses, as well as pestos, sauces, salsas, honey. And, don’t forget to sample some of the baked goods. Craftspeople also offer their wares from yarn to jewelry to woodcrafted items. In the months of November and December, the members go inside Fiddlestix to extend their season during the cold weather.
